  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the beef stew meat and cook until browned. Remove the meat from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt the remaining butter. Add the onion and carrots, and cook until softened.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  6. Return the beef stew meat to the pan and add the frozen peas, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased pie dish.
  8. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cover the pie dish. Trim off the excess pastry and decorate as desired.
  9. Beat the egg and brush it over the pastry.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  11. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
