Cook the wild rice according to package instructions. Drain and let it cool.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked wild rice, crab meat, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, green onions, red bell pepper, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Shape the mixture into patties and place them on a baking sheet. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the crab cakes until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove the crab cakes from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
