Wild Blackberry or Dewberry Pie

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the pie crust and line a pie dish.

In a large bowl, mix together the wild blackberries or dewberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.

Pour the berry mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Dot the top of the pie with small pieces of butter, if desired.

Cover the pie with the second pie crust, sealing the edges.

Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
