  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas. Add the mashed bananas, honey, milk, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.
  6. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut it into 8 wedges.
  7. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
