  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the almond extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
