  2. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into thin slices.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  4. Add the butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract together.
  6. Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  7. Grease a cake pan and pour half of the batter into it.
  8. Arrange half of the apple slices on top of the batter.
  9. Pour the remaining batter over the apple slices and top with the remaining apple slices.
  10. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
