Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 8 cup Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the praline topping. In a small saucepan, melt the brown sugar and heavy cream over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool.
  7. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting over the top. Drizzle the praline topping over the frosting.
  9. Allow the cake to rest for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy!
