Cake picks or toppers are a fun way to decorate cakes for special occasions like Easter.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease and line a cake tin.

In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and caster sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

In a bowl, mix together the icing sugar and water until smooth.

Divide the icing into separate bowls and add food coloring to each bowl to create different colors.

Once the cake has cooled, use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the cake.

Dip the cake shapes into the colored icing and place on a wire rack to dry.

Once dry, use as cake picks or toppers.
