  2. Crush the vanilla wafers into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a plastic bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
