Ingredients
  • 8 ounce Pie crust
  • 2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 large Egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Whipped cream
  • 1 cup Vanilla wafer cookies
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Press the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and bake for 10 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually add the hot milk mixture to the egg yolks while whisking continuously.
  5. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the pudding into the baked pie crust and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  9. Before serving, top with whipped cream and crushed vanilla wafer cookies.
