  • 3 piece Pears
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Whipped cream
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and cook until melted and bubbly. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan.
  3. Peel and slice the pears, then arrange them in a single layer over the sugar mixture in the cake pan.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the molasses, egg, flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, salt, and milk until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the pears in the cake pan.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a serving plate.
  8. Serve warm with whipped cream.
