Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar. Spread this mixture evenly in the prepared cake pan.

Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the butter-sugar mixture.

In another bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and milk alternately, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter over the bananas in the cake pan.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Place a serving plate on top of the cake pan, then carefully invert the cake onto the plate. Allow it to cool completely before serving.
