  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Arrange them in the bottom of the cake pan.

  4. Add butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the apples in the cake pan.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes.
