Turtle Pie gets its name from the combination of chocolate, caramel, and pecans, which resemble the colors and textures of a turtle’s shell.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crust and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish.
  3. Pour the caramel sauce over the crust, spreading it evenly.
  4. Sprinkle pecans and dark chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over the pecans and chocolate chips.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 2 hours.
  8. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  9. Serve chilled with whipped cream on top.
