  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork and ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced potato, chicken broth, dried savory, dried thyme, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Line a pie dish with one pie crust. Pour the meat mixture into the crust.
  6. Cover with the second pie crust and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  7. Brush the beaten egg over the top crust.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the tourtiere rest for 10 minutes before serving.
