  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add ice water, tossing with a fork until the dough holds together when pressed.
  3. Divide the dough in half and shape into two discs. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out one disc of dough on a lightly floured surface and fit into a pie dish.
  5. Fill with your desired pie filling and cover with the second rolled-out disc of dough. Seal the edges and cut slits on the top crust for venting.
