Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a mixing bowl, combine the rhubarb, flour, sugar, nuts, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
