Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Golden syrup
  • 2 piece Egg yolks
  • 1 cup Pineapple jam
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and golden syrup until smooth.
  3. Add the egg yolks to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into small portions and flatten each portion into a circle.
  6. Spoon a small amount of pineapple jam onto the center of each dough circle.
  7. Fold and seal the edges of the dough to enclose the pineapple jam.
  8. Place the filled dough on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the pineapple cakes from the oven and let them cool for 30 minutes.
  10. Dust the cooled pineapple cakes with powdered sugar before serving.
