  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil the sweet potatoes until tender. Drain, peel, and mash them.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, cornmeal, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, melted unsalted butter, egg, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Press the cornmeal pastry mixture into a pie dish, forming the crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the pecans, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, and melted unsalted butter to make the streusel topping.
  6. Pour the sweet potato mixture into the crust and sprinkle the streusel topping over it.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the pie is set and the streusel is golden brown.
