  3. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together egg whites and sugar. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water and whisk constantly until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is warm.
  4. Remove the bowl from heat and transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. Beat on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  5. In a blender, puree the strawberries until smooth. Strain the puree to remove any seeds.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  7. In a saucepan, heat the strawberry puree until warm. Add the softened gelatin and stir until dissolved.
  8. Fold the strawberry mixture into the beaten egg whites. Then fold in the whipped cream.
  9. Pour the filling into the prepared crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
