  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, alternating between the two, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Mix in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar with a few drops of food coloring and enough water to make a smooth glaze.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
  12. Decorate with edible flowers.
