  3. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Stir until everything is well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
  6. Pour the boiling water over the top of the batter. Do not stir.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
