  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 4 ounce Cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoon Butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a small bowl, beat together the powdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  9. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake.
