Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 0.5 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 2.5 cup Whole milk
  • 4 large Egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • 2 tablespoon Chocolate shavings
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch (23 cm) pie dish.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  4. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Set aside.
  5. In a separate saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt, whole milk, and egg yolks until well combined.
  6. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared crust and spread it evenly.
  8. Pour the custard mixture over the chocolate layer and smooth the top.
  9. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  10. Before serving, top the pie with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
