Ingredients
  • 500 gram Shortcrust Pastry
  • 200 gram Bacon
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 500 gram Potatoes
  • 300 gram Apples
  • 250 ml Cider
  • 250 ml Chicken Stock
  • 2 teaspoon Sage
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line a pie dish.
  3. Fry the bacon until crispy, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté the onions until translucent.
  5. Add the potatoes and cook until slightly softened.
  6. Stir in the apples, cider, chicken stock, sage, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Pour the mixture into the pie dish.
  9. Top with the crispy bacon.
  10. Cover with the remaining pastry and seal the edges.
  11. Cut a small slit in the center to allow steam to escape.
  12. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  13. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
