Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but using ground beef is also common in some regions.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add chopped onion, grated carrot, and frozen peas to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes.

Stir in Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Boil them in salted water until tender.

Drain the potatoes and mash them with butter and milk until smooth.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.

Use a fork to create a pattern on the mashed potatoes.

Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
