Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but the use of ground beef became more common in the United Kingdom during the 20th century.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Remove any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrot, peas, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk until smooth.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.

Bake for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
