Shepherd’s Pie

Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but it is commonly made with ground beef as well.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrots, peas, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

Meanwhile, peel and chop the potatoes. Place them in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender. Drain and return to the pot.

Mash the potatoes with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
