Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, while Cottage Pie is made with beef.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the chopped onion, carrots, and peas to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are slightly softened.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef stock. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Divide the beef mixture evenly among 4 individual ramekins or oven-safe dishes.

Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of each ramekin, creating a smooth layer.

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbling.

Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
