  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Heat a large pan over medium heat and brown the beef. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt the butter and sauté the onion, carrot, and potato until softened.
  4. Add the beef back to the pan and pour in the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat.
  6. Roll out the puff pastry and line a pie dish with it. Pour the meat mixture into the dish.
  7. Cover the pie with another sheet of puff pastry and seal the edges. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  9. Allow the pie to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
