Saskatoon berries are native to North America and are similar in taste to blueberries. They are commonly used in traditional Canadian dishes, such as Saskatoon Pie.

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the saskatoon berries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Pour the berry mixture onto the pie crust.
  5. Dot the top of the filling with small pieces of butter.
  6. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling. Seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
  7. Make several small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 1 hour before serving.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.
