  • 1.5 cup Rolled oats
  • 1.5 cup Boiling water
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 unit Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Raisins (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats and boiling water. Let stand for 20 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the soaked oats, chopped nuts (if using), and raisins (if using). Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
