  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and line a pie dish with it.
  3. Peel and slice the apples.
  4. In a bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  5. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
  6. Dot the top of the apples with small pieces of butter.
  7. Roll out the remaining pie crust and cut it into thin strips.
  8. Arrange the strips in a lattice pattern on top of the pie.
  9. Beat the egg and brush it over the lattice crust.
  10. Bake the pie for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  11. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
