Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
