Ingredients
  • 8 ounce Clams
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and milk together.
  3. Add the egg and milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  4. Fold in the clams.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove the clam cakes from the oil and drain on paper towels.
