  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Drop spoonfuls of raspberries onto the batter and gently swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
  10. Slice and serve.
