  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into 6 bowls and add food coloring to each bowl to create vibrant colors.
  7. Transfer the colored batter into the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
