Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • as needed Food coloring (pink and red)
  • as needed Buttercream frosting
  • as needed Fondant (pink, white, black)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into three equal parts. Leave one part plain, color one part pink, and color the remaining part red.
  7. Pour the batters into separate cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
  9. Trim the tops of the cakes to level them, if needed.
  10. Stack the cakes on top of each other, spreading buttercream frosting between each layer.
  11. Use fondant to shape the Hello Kitty face and ears, and decorate the cake as desired.
