Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.

Add the butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
