  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. Add the butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
  9. Slice and serve.
