Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground cloves.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops spring back when lightly pressed.

Transfer the whoopie pies to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese filling onto the flat side of half of the whoopie pies.

Top with the remaining whoopie pies, flat side down, to create sandwiches.
