  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In the meantime, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  9. Once the cake has cooled, frost it with the cream cheese frosting and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
