In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, and cook until softened.

Add the pumpkin puree and vegetable broth to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Season with nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.

Remove the pot from the heat and let the soup cool slightly.

Use an immersion blender or transfer the soup to a blender to puree until smooth.
