  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely.
  7. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
  8. Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled cake. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  9. Slice and serve.
