Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until well blended.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
