  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
