Ingredients
  • 1.5 pound Pork Shoulder
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic Cloves
  • 2 medium Apples
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Sage Leaves
  • 1.5 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 4 tablespoon Cold Water
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, sauté the pork shoulder until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened. Add the apples and cook until tender.
  4. Return the pork to the skillet and mix well. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. In a food processor, combine the cheddar cheese, sage leaves, flour, butter, water, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions, one slightly larger than the other. Roll out the larger portion and line a pie dish.
  7. Spoon the pork and apple mixture into the pie dish.
  8. Roll out the remaining dough and place it on top of the filling. Seal the edges and cut slits on the top crust for ventilation.
  9. Beat the egg and brush it over the top crust.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  11. Allow the pie to rest for 20 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
