Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
In a small saucepan, heat the powdered sugar and heavy cream over low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the dark chocolate until melted and smooth.
-
Pour the chocolate glaze over the cooled cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
-
Let the glaze set for at least 1 hour before serving.
-
Slice and enjoy!
