  2. Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over melted butter.
  4. Arrange pineapple slices and maraschino cherries on top of the brown sugar.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  6. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture. Mix well.
  7. Pour the batter over the pineapple slices in the cake pan.
