In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped peanuts. Sprinkle half of the mixture over the batter in the pan.

Spoon the remaining batter over the cinnamon mixture, and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon mixture on top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
