Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 8 package Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup Peach preserves
  • 1 cup Peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup Slivered almonds
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and vanilla. Gradually add to the crumb mixture and mix well.
  4. Spread 2/3 of this mixture onto the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  5. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peach preserves until smooth. Spread over the crust in the pan.
  6. Arrange peach slices on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with slivered almonds.
  8. Dot the remaining crumb mixture over the peaches.
  9. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  10. Serve warm or cooled.
